Accenture grants Amref additional funds to help improve its mobile health training program in Kenya
Accenture and the Accenture Foundations have awarded Amref Health Africa an additional grant of US$3 million to help the organization enhance and scale its mobile health training program to 3,000 community health workers in Kenya.
This grant brings Accenture’s direct support to Amref Health Africa to more than US$7.3 million since 2005.
Safaricom Withdraws Million Dollar Investment from Kenya’s Sports Sector
A perceived lack of accountability and a failure to keep up with best practices appears to have caught up with Kenyan sports administrators as one of the key players in the field of sports investment in the country, telecommunications giants Safaricom, have announced the withdrawal and termination of their lucrative sponsorship deals from three different sports federations in Kenya.

The main reason for Safaricom’s withdrawal of their investment was clearly hinged on the rising tide of corruption controversies which have appeared to encumber true growth and potential in Kenyan sports. The three federations affected by the pulling of sponsorship are the athletics, rugby and, crucially, football federations.

Association out to block cashless fare system
More than half a million jobs will be lost if the new cashless fare system is adopted, the Matatu Welfare Association (MWA) has said.
