Treasury kicks off e-procurement training in state corporations
The Government has put in place plan to ensure implementation of the newly introduced e-procurement platform, IFMIS. Through the National Treasury, the Government will on Wednesday March 18 start training officials from state corporations on how to use IFMIS e-procurement system.
CS Matiang’i calls on Kenya Police to improve digital crimes unit

Dr Fred Matiang’i, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communication, has today called on the Kenya Police Service to improve its digital crimes unit. The CS made the calls during the launch of Strathmore University’s Cyber Security Masters programme. The Cabinet Secretary shared his thoughts saying that by improving its digital crimes unit, the Kenya Police will have shown it’s a modern organization.
Drone event cancelled by Kenya authorities
Celebrations to mark the International Drone Day were cancelled because the government would not give its permission. Nairobi was one of three African cities selected to host the day’s festivities. George Mbugua of Kenya Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Association, yesterday told the star that the Ministry of Defence and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority denied them authorisation.

The day is held annually on the second Saturday of March to highlight and illustrate the positive impacts that the adoption and utilization of UAV technology.
GOtv, StarTimes deny broadcast infringement
TWO pay TV firms yesterday denied claims of infringing on three media houses’ broadcasting rights. GOtv and Startimes told Justice Alfred Mabeya there is clear evidence that the Royal Media Services, Nation Media Group and Standard Group chose to take self-help measures by airing certain adverts, knowing what the Supreme Court judgment had said regarding infringement of copyright.
