Retailers have moved from relying on surveillance cameras, initially seen as a deterrent to internal theft, to control room to hunt down the growing sophisticated web of swindlers.

Kenya’s Jenga Web emerged the top marketing agency in Africa, winning in six categories during the 2015 African Property Awards held Thursday night in Dubai, UAE. The agency won the Best Golf Development in Africa for the Aberdare Hills Golf Resort. The resort also bagged the 5 star award for best golf development in Kenya.

KoTDA seeks investors for Phase 1 development of Konza City
Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) has invited investors to take up space in the first phase of the Konza Techno City. The initial development dubbed “phase 1” has been sub-divided into various parcels of land. The winning firms will be given a lease on those parcels of land where they will build approved structures as per the Konza city master plan. The facilities to be put up include schools, office blocks, residential housing, shopping malls, as well as recreational facilities.
Buni.tv partnerships take service global

African video-on-demand startup Buni.tv has announced a series of partnerships which will see the service become available across Africa, the US and the UK. Buni.tv said as the result of an aggressive carriage deal strategy pursued over the past few months, the service will now be available on over 10 partner platforms, to be rolled out over the coming weeks.
Digital ‘classroom in a box’ for Kenyan pupils
At the Lighthouse Grace Academy in Nairobi’s downmarket Kwangware suburb, yellow school t-shirts carry the slogan ‘To Fear God is Wisdom’, but in their hands pupils clutch a more worldly path to knowledge: tablet computers. The hand-sized tablets are part of the ‘Kio Kit’, a digital classroom in a suitcase designed by local technology company BRCK, which two years ago launched the hard-wearing, brick-sized modem that works as a wifi hotspot.
