Pivot East 2015 has announced that Hilda Moraa will be the Keynote speaker at this year’s startup pitching conference which Chase Bank Kenya will be sponsoring.
“In line with Pivot East 2015 mission to highlight the East African startups ecosystem to the world, share the success and growth in the ecosystem over the past 5years and showcase some of the startups in the region to the world, we are honored to have Hilda Moraa as the Keynote Speaker for this Year’s Pivot East,” a post on the events official blog, read.
“She is one of the successful young female tech entrepreneurs in Africa. She will be sharing her inspiring story on her Weza Tele journey and advice to the 25 startups that will have a chance to pitch at the event. She will also highlight the key ingredients to a successful startup and how to Fire up your startup and keep it up through her practical and inspiring experiences and diverse knowledge,” it continued.

Hilda Moraa is one of the founders of Weza Tele Ltd, a leading mobile technology value add provider that recently got acquired by AFB. She also doubled up as Weza Tele’s CEO & Business Development manager.
Chase Bank Kenya will be the main sponsor at the event which will be held on July 22, 2015 at the Panari Hotel. Other sponsors of the competition are; Making All Voices Count (MAVC) and Homeboyz.
Announcing the Gold Sponsorship, Head of Digital Banking, Eddie Ndichu spoke on the commitment of the bank towards innovation.

PIVOT East is an initiative of m:lab East Africa – a consortium comprising iHub, eMobilis and University of Nairobi. This year’s conference aims to facilitate discovery and nurturing of the next wave of high potential mobile innovations into sustainable business, ensuring that mobile innovations are high in the agenda of regional, governments, corporates and development agencies for amplified development impact and to raise the quality of mobile startups in the region.
