Turning Little into a companion app
As the Kenyan tech industry continues to grow and demarcate its space in the continent, the rest of the world…
As the Kenyan tech industry continues to grow and demarcate its space in the continent, the rest of the world has rendered due acknowledgment of the same. I have always had a dream that Kenyan tech companies should rule Africa and beyond, and that dream is on its way. Not far at all.
“When Little with Safaricom was launched in 2016, to be not just a hailing app but a companion one as well, I had a discussion with Bob Collymore and Dr Bitange Ndemo, in which I told them my desire to make Little bigger than Safaricom,” notes Kamal Budhabatti, CEO Craft Silicon
Little is not just a Hailing App. It’s a companion app that allows users to load their Little Wallet for rides, buy airtime and even pay bills. It also has Gift Rides to friends and an option for creating personalized promo codes for events. Little allows users to schedule rides, get a corporate package for staff, and a lot more. It is without doubt the most preferred Hailing App in our Kenya today.

“We know quite well that success does not come to you, you must fight for it, and that success comes one step at a time. We also know that dreams never come true without a lot of failures. I want to sincerely thank Bob and Dr Ndemo for without them giving me a bootstrap, we may not have been where we are today.” Kamal
This journey has not been without challenges. There have been days we failed and other times when the going was so hard, we wanted to quit. The journey is full of silly and hilarious mistakes just as much as the victorious moves.
The journey has taught us a virtue; persistence. The virtue that will help us realize our dream of flying the Kenyan Flag on most of the African countries.
The dream is to start putting Kenyan flag in most African countries. We have started our march. We expanded to Uganda few months back and we are creating an impact there. Today I am glad to share that we have started operations in Zambia. Tanzania is next on our line. Taking Kenyan heartbeat miles across, country by country.

Our journey has been like the proverbial marriage made in heaven. Very interesting especially because especially because of my team. The Littlers do a great job and they should know that teams are also made in heaven just like marriage partners. We have a team like no other; full of energy, right attitude, super talented, passionate and truly committed.
We share the same vision and will not rest till we achieve what I told Bob that day.
Thank you my riders for supporting us. Without you, we are no one.
I am proud to be a Kenyan.
