The news we have been waiting for, gamers unite. (Yes, even you Playstation gamers). The Xbox Series S is inevitable at this point. Microsoft has spent the last two years talking about its plans for the next Xbox. But it focused all of that hype on the beefy Xbox Series X, which should launch with a processing-power advantage over the PlayStation 5. But the company is also secretly developing a second next-gen Xbox that should run all of the same games with similar graphics settings but at 1080p instead of 4K.
The underlying philosophy of the Xbox Series S is that many people still game on 1080p televisions. And while the 4K adoption rate is climbing, a significant percentage of people own 1080p displays. As we launch into a new generation of gaming with Xbox Series X, we see a future where you’re instantly absorbed in your games and worlds are even more lifelike, immersive, responsive, and surprising.
It packs an unprecedented 12 teraflops of GPU power and enables new technologies and features like hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing, variable rate shading, framerates up to 120 fps, and Quick Resume for multiple games, all of which cumulatively will deliver a new level of fidelity, immediacy, precision and accuracy never before seen in console gaming.

Xbox are well underway developing a gaming cloud too. With Project xCloud, they are not  just building a powerful and compatible console, but one of the the fastest, and largest gaming clouds. When it launches later this year, Project xCloud will empower Xbox Game Pass members to play with their friends anywhere, no download required.
