Techno Mobile has donated 140 jerseys and sporting equipment to the University of Nairobi. Football, rugby and basketball teams are the main beneficiaries.
In addition to the donations, the company has put up shades and benches in strategic points in the fields at Main Campus.
Speaking during the event, Techno Mobile Managing Director, Washington Xu, encouraged the various sports teams to be ambitious and to pursue what they love. He urged the students to pursue their dreams both in sports and in academia. Techno Mobile has been very supportive of the University’s sports department.

Mean Machine
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, congratulated the teams for the immense effort they put in to win the various trophies and awards. In the recent past, Rugby sports Team, popularly known as the Mean Machine, won several awards in the just concluded inter university sports season.
Prof. Mbithi encouraged the students to work hard towards meeting the vision and mission of the University of Nairobi by excelling both in their sports activities and their academic pursuits. In his concluding remarks, the Vice-Chancellor observed that sports unites people globally and Kenya has been a leading example and one of the countries with world top men and women in the athletics domain. He urged the teams to work together and resolve any differences that may not work towards their success when in the field.
