Tala Confirms Annstella Mumbi As Kenya’s GM
Tala, a global financial technology company, has named Annstella Mumbi as its new General Manager for Kenya effective immediately.
Before assuming the new position, she was Tala’s interim General Manager of Kenya and Global Director of Growth.
Mumbi, a seasoned business executive, boasts a decade of expertise spanning fintech, EdTech, and venture capital. She has assumed various roles in strategy, growth, expansion, and overall business leadership across several African countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Uganda.

She graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) with a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering.
“Over the past three years at Tala, Mumbi has demonstrated tremendous leadership, expanded her scope on numerous occasions, and most recently served as our Interim General Manager,” said Jori Pearsall, Chief Business Officer of Tala while announcing the Kenyan team.
“She can bring the Kenya leadership team together and rally Tala around a bold vision for Kenya’s next phase of growth. Beyond the vision, she will continue to lead the team of 130 Talazens in Kenya by bringing together new technology, partnerships and ways of operating to drive the business forward while never losing sight of our Kenyan customers. I am beyond excited to see the growth she can drive from here,” concluded Pearsall.

Mumbi’s focus within the company involves guiding its transition from a digital lender to a comprehensive financial services provider in the coming year.
