  1. The local data providers who have milk Kenyans for so long are really scared of losing the huge profits they being making. Bure kabisa.

    1. Safaricom thought that we can’t migrate to othe companies, lakini tulianguka nayo🫣🫣😆Sai tuko Airtel na hatushtuki

    2. It’s now apparent these people are advertently making life difficult for Kenyans. The challenge by other local service providers seems too insignificant to force Safaricom to lower rates . Starlink should be allowed to compete with Safaricom so that we can enjoy the lowest rates and their punitive service plans that they keep tinkering with to our disadvantage.

    3. Let safcom just go! It’s over 12years faithful customer to safcom, how much do you think safcom have rip from my account yet my loan limit is kshs 0,fuliza limit is 0,0koa jahazi kshs 0!!!! Thank you safcom but let starlink take over your dominance as they hear customer concerns and griefs if any!!! Even customer care human you have replace with programmed robot🤖 that can answers un programed problems. Mkende tuu kabisa

  2. They deserve the pill, let them swallow it.Safaricom my foot, wonder if the government will heed their plea to regulate others while no one has heard the cry of the poor to regulate Safaricom itself, such a shame🤣🤣🤣
    Anguka nayo

    1. Why can’t you give us figures in kenya shillings
You the writer of this article and safaricom are the same.
Do we pay in foreign currency?

  3. It’s been long that safaricom has bullied other providers, now it’s their turn, the competition is quite healthy, and now it’s ok if we have starlink,it’s about time the get from their high horse

    1. Hao wezi wa safaricom have been milking us dry, now they are scared! Bure kabisa! As ordinary poor citizens we need competitive and affordable pricing in the market to have a variety of service providers to choose from. Their monopoly has impoverished Kenyans so that they make huge profits to seek fame dancing on the poor people’s plight. Shame on them! Starkink na wengine watakuja hakuna regulations eti sijui they work with local network providers! People speak as if they own the airwaves!

  4. Safaricoms internet network is un stable and expensive it has lately become like KQ as consumers we are happy to see new competition and as much as we would wish to support our own local companies good service is non negotiable.
Let them ( Safaricom ) lower rates and work on the network.

    1. There is no supporting local company here. Even starlink has employed Kenyans and is paying taxes. It’s a matter of value for money

  5. The prices you are mentioning are in Kenya Shillings please quote them jn Kenya Shillings and do conversion in brackets

    1. Safaricom needs to up its strategies, provide value for customers’ money and face new competition squarely instead of lecturing Communications Authority of Kenya.

  6. Safaricom has enjoyed monopoly and has used it to loot from Kenyans, both voice and data are exhorbitantly prices. Let starlink trim your craftiness and the competition will be good for us. I wish another company comes with with mobile money transfer option… You have raked enough

  7. Free market is ok . No regularizing. Safaricom has enjoyed a monopoly and robbed subscribers. Why would the 4 top officers get over 70 million while they pay 2sh. Per dividend. It’s embarrassing . They deserve it. I only use it for convenience.

  8. Safaricom is a good company with quality service & products but it must brace itself to the reality. In a free market economy like ours competition is healthy for us customers. So pls style up with your pricing. Your competitors will increase and they will not relent.

  9. Very funny. Safaricom proposing a law to force satellite data providers to partner with local companies…. In their mind that should be safaricom

  10. It’s time more stronger communications companies like StarLink ventures in Kenya to rid off Safaricom’s monopoly. We need more options as Kenyans.

  11. Let the safaricom regret now coz of their higher prices of internet we want competitive markets in internet industries so that big companies like safaricom to pull down their socks n Learn lessons to caution

  12. We want autonomous Internet suppliers. Recent outage of Safaricom Internet during the demonstrations blamed on optic fibre damage shows it’s subject to government influence…we welcome Starlink!

    1. I am looking forward to a day when kplc face real competition like this one. I will walk from Nairobi to my home county 320kms.

      1. Was about to comment on the same.
Can Elon Musk come up with something similar but this time for Kplc to scratch their heads!

      2. Safaricom my foot. Leave alone Safaricom internet,I don’t even make calls via safaricom line, because it’s unmanageable. Its the highest time we get value for our money

  13. So why should safaricom complain about competition when they started mpesa the banks complained but government approved mpesa.

Local internet companies slowed down the internet during the the Gen Z protest. We want to be free from government control so starlink is the answer.

Safaricom wake up and compete. Let’s see you finish off starlnk as you have local advantage already. Don’t be little babies. Don’t look for protection from the government. Vodafone is lobbying like this allowed by your shareholders?

  14. I look forward to the day safaricom will be in the past like many other who refused to listen to their customers like the infamous ‘Kenya posts and telecommunications. safaricom has milked Kenyans dry, and the ‘reawrd’ to kenyans is the prohibitive fuliza, m kopa, m …everything and exorbitant data, voice and m pesa prices so as to boast as the most profitable company in the region. An agent of foreign masters.

  15. We are living in an era where, yesterday you were relevant amd tomorrow irrelevant. It’s called Blitzscaling. Remember if you can’t beat them, join them. Starlink all the way!!!

  16. This is the end of safaricom. They cannot go in bed with our oppressors and expect, we the people, to forgive them. Their reign end now.

  17. Safaricom could just win this, they have been working with the government a long time milking customers .Not unless of cause, starlink willing “kutoboka” more.

  18. The milker is now scared of competition. Starlink should avail the services to every corner and the migration on the way is real.Enough of the exploitation by the monopolistic Safaricom

  19. Let Safaricom face stiff competition. They overcharge Kenyans and milk them dry to satisfy their insatiable appetite for money. Suckers!
Starlink has come to the rescue of the poor Kenyans under the Telcom monopoly. Starlink should not be forced to partner with corrupt Kenya companies to oppress the citizens. Shame on Safaricom. Your days of monopoly are coming to and end. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen

  20. When they were stealing from us, Safaricom were comfortable and smiling all the way to the bank. Now that someone has chosen to bail us out, they’ve started wailing like retarded toddlers. Shame on them!

  21. Why someone complain of something being offered to people at cheap affordable price, its time for safaricom to style up or loose all its customers… let them lower the price if they want to compete with starlink. They have been conning us let them face wrathy

  22. What goes round comes around. Let Safaricom also swallow their pill. When mobile services came to Kenya officially in late 1990s, Airtel had really manipulated Kenyans with high charges @ KShs 50/= per minute, and when. Safaricom entered the market with cheap charges, Kenyans shifted from Airtel to Safaricom with a lot of anger hence complicating Airtel’s business upto date, but Airtel never requested the government to regulate the internet. Competition in business is allowed because of free market policy. What Safaricom should do is to lower their charges further in order to compete with and remove Starlink from the market. Otherwise let Kenyans enjoy the benefits of the free market. Safaricom should always remember that in business, tomorrow is always better than today. Bure kabisa

  23. Safaricom has dominated the market for so long, and it’s their time to face stiff competition no matter what, let starlink shine

  24. Welcome star link. Your prices are just amazing. Safari com has always taken us for a ride for long enough.

  25. How does 40mbps compare to 300mbps !!! Safaricom join the wagon lower your prices and increase your speeds to keep us on board otherwise we are gone

  26. Safaricom nkibuy bundles mnajihotspot na ni mmi nmebuy , kaende kaende safaricom…. Nlishift kitambi mpaka starlink

  27. For years Safaricom has milked Kenyans with its monopoly while offering subpar services. It’s about time we had real competition in Kenya. It will force service providers to either improve or get out of the market. Safaricom CEO should stop crying to the CA in Kenya and focus on improvement

    1. Agreed 200 percent. I always wonder how they can suck at us like this. Withdrawal of lowest amount 27 shs? What kind of a company is this ? To fleece the poor to become more poor.

  28. Safaricom’s attempt at winning us back is like a magician’s trick: “Now you see the savings, now you don’t—because we still have the same old issues!”

  29. Does this reduction offer apply only to customers that had migrated to Starlink to woo them back or it’s a price reduction for all Safaricom data customers? It’s surprising that the same old high prices are still charged to customers who had not migrated. Safaricom is not genuinely concerned about it’s customers.

  30. In business when you are corned on pricing, you look ways of keeping your customers. You don’t jump to the regulator for protection. Safaricom has been enjoying near monopoly and could not foresee and risk manage giants like Starling.

We should support that which makes internet cheaper. Safaricom suggestion is outright selfish and retrogressive.

  31. Safaricom MUST STOP this stupidity of urging the government to regulate satellite internet providers!! They know they had the monopoly for a long time, stealing from customers left-right-center!! Now they are scared if loosing the very customers they’ve been stealing from!! Please let people do business in a free and fare space!! SHUT UP SAFARICOM!!!

  32. The only thing remaining is Elon musk to buy Airtel and make sim cards which will enable mobile money transfer since safaricom has banned its transactions to starlink

  33. Compe ni Compe Roho Safi. Safaricom should just best what Starlink is offering to entice their loyal customers.

  34. I will support starlink because they are teaching safaricom to stop exploitation. I love your hard work and dedication. Keep us updated on the news

  35. The has been no limit as to how expensive a company can charge. There should be no limit either as to how cheap it should be.

  36. I feel like this is so wrong… monopoly at its best. Why didn’t safaricom add the speed and lower prices prior to starlink? Meaning they were capable but just dint care? If it’s me I’ll not even go with safricome… always playing with wanainchi

  37. How is increasing speed cheaper for anyone? Or we are supposed to be fools who don’t know when you consume a small amount faster is not cheaper. They should sell the same quantity the competitor cheaper and then that will be a deal.

  38. Safaricom denied me subscription because of it’s punitive & exorbitant prices, it’s for the rich…I opted for poor Telkom Internet which is only available in the city ..thanks for star link cheap and genuine for only ksh.1300 per month and is available here at shaqz nikiona vile ads za Safaricom ipitia kwa screen powered by star link , as I do my job on time and rest early with joy 😂 👏 👏 👏!

  39. These day light quacks have gotten a match of their own. I faced tremendous down time with their soo called 10mbs that’s even not dedicated and they thought they’d scrutinise me the that long. Starlink all the way.
