Safaricom will shut down some of its services on Saturday and Sunday as they carry out maintenance.
According to a statement by the Strategy Director Safaricom, Joseph Ogutu, the maintenance will be conducted from Saturday 7th April noon to Sunday 8th April 3 am.
The statement further detailed that some services that will be affected include all top ups, all balance enquiries and outgoing international voice calls and SMS.

This second phase of the maintenance will also affect services and availability of Okoa Jahazi, purchase of data bundles, purchase of Flex bundles and product purchase as well as sll USSD service will also be disrupted.
However the statement clarified that all other services including voice, data, M-Pesa and SMS will remain available at all times.
“While the timing has been planned to result in the least disruption, we are sorry for any inconvenience that may be experienced,” said Mr. Ogutu.

The system maintenance is expected to boost the quality of service and better the firm’s customer experience.
