The Government of Rwanda has aggressively pursued and invested heavily in information and communications technology (ICT) and believes that ICT is a key driver for socio-economic development and to fast track Rwanda’s transformation to a knowledge-based society.
ICT is increasingly becoming a tool of everyday life for many Rwandan for Backing, Education, Commerce, Communication, Office Work and Socializing. Therefore, it is important to use Internet in a secure and confident manner. Cyber security threats are becoming a significant risk for Rwandan citizens, Organizations and to the entire Nation.
To learn more about cloud, join CIO East Africa at the upcoming East Africa Cloud and Security Summit; to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from the 28th-29th of March.
To reduce these risks, RISA, the Division of ICT Security has implemented National Cyber Security Awareness campaign. The main purpose of this campaign is to educate Rwandans more specifically local government e-services users the Internet security threats and measures to protect themselves against those attacks, exposure to harmful and illegal content, since cyber threats are a big risk to Rwanda National Security and growth of National Economy.

Considering that there are real issues around protecting the digital ecosystem is infrastructure, and maintaining this position. In the second, we have an opportunity to create a self-sustaining cyber security ecosystem, one where the SMEs and multinationals can work together, and make Rwanda and by extension East Africa and beyond an excellent space. RISA has therefor partnered with CIO East Africa to host the premier Cloud and Cyber Security Summit in Kigali, Rwanda.
The summit, themed; “Safe and Secure Services Online” will serve as the climax of the Rwanda National Cybersecurity Awareness Week (CSAW). Since ICT and Internet is increasingly becoming a tool of everyday life, it was timely for RISA to up their National preparedness for cyber security threats.
