President Uhuru Kenyatta Wednesday opened the Kenya-Italy Business Forum with an assurance to the Italian business community that his government has streamlined the visa issuance process to make the document more accessible.
The President said the introduction of online visa application by his government was aimed at making it easy for Italian businesspeople and tourists to travel to Kenya.

“Anybody who wishes to travel to Kenya can apply online and receive the visa on arrival at any point in Kenya,” President Kenyatta said.
President Kenyatta spoke in Italy when he opened the business forum that was organised by the Milan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Milan Expo 2015 and the Kenya Export Promotion Council.
The president as well encouraged Italians to come and invest in Kenya particularly in the ICT sector adding that Kenyan business community and their Italian counterparts to work closely in improving trade between Kenya and Italy.

He told the Expo Milan 2015, in which more than 180 countries are participating that investors could use Kenya as a platform to penetrate the Eastern African market with their products. “I encourage more Italian companies to invest in Kenya in sectors including energy, infrastructure, manufacturing especially in agri-processing and value addition, real estate, finance and ICT,” he said.
Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, is hosting from May 1 to October 31, 2015. Over this six-month period, Milan becomes a global showcase where more than 140 participating countries show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium.
In addition to the exhibition nations, the Expo also involves international organizations, and expects to welcome over 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square meters of exhibition area.
