Premier SaccoTech forum kicks off at Serena Hotel, Nairobi

CIO East Africa’s premier SACCOtech kicked off today 10^th April the Serena Hotel, Nairobi Kenya. The forum, themed: Harnessing technology in SACCOS for Socio-Economic Development kicked off with a boom, with over 100 Finance and IT Professionals from across the country attending.

The forum, a first of its kind in the SACCOs domain is part of the many CIO East Africa’s events that focus on emerging disruptive technologies. The event was kicked off with a high level CEO round table session to discuss the needs Sacco’s have for technology.

“CIO East Africa welcomes you all to the inaugural SACCOtech summit,” said Laura Chite, CEO CIO East Africa, adding; “The forum purposes to explore technology use-cases and discuss ways in which the Sacco Societies can effectively identify, adopt and benefit from the implementation of disruptive technologies including Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.”

During the CEO Roundtable, a discussion on technologically transforming the traditional SACCOs and such a journey took stage.  To digitally transform and deploy technologies to meet changing customer demands and transform the customer experience.

“SACCOs have participated in national building in several aspects. They partner with NHIF to enhance affordable health services and offer loans that largely go to the purchase of lands and  construction of houses,” Gorge Ototo the MD KUSCO.

From a unique blend of focused Executive Visions panel discussions, analyst sessions, visionary Keynote presentations and networking breaks, technology executives and a rich agenda touching on topics from Role of SACCOs in National Transformation, Shaping the SACCOs competitiveness in a Digital Economy, Fraud incidences and Protecting the Kenyan SACCO, Making better use of Data Analysis, to big data and Analytics, the Summit ensured all SACCO industry concerns regarding digital walk are catered for.
