As we enter an exciting era where everything is connected and intelligent, Huawei believes there are significant opportunities for countries in emerging markets to shift from resource-dependent economies to the innovation-driven digital economy.
Such was the view shared by William Xu, executive director of the board and chief strategy marketing officer at Huawei, during a press briefing on emerging markets at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
To help these countries achieve an innovation-driven digital market, Huawei has announced a move to work and collaborate with communities and operators in emerging markets, which it said will help them maximise network assets and deploy home broadband and indoor digitalization to drive connectivity and enhance user experience while promoting digital economic and social growth.

Mr. Xu said that they were working with operators to help them identify valued customers and develop valued businesses, which will help them build valued networks.
“We will enable operators combine industry policy with the utilization of existing network resources and integrate technological and business innovation. Our goal is to help operators drive new revenue streams and a positive business cycle of service development and network construction,” he added.
He further added that Huawei had analyzed the current landscape in emerging markets to formulate its strategic approach from four angles which were around the user, family, asset and efficiency.
