Miyabi Africa and Microsoft partnered to sponsor the hackathon at the upcoming Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit slated on 16th – 17th August, 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The hackathon driven by an IoT and AI Build will feature startups showcasing some of the IoT and AI solutions that they have built in collaboration with other organizations.
“The Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transforming how people, devices and data interact in every sphere of life. Miyabi Africa is working on The Kenya Education Cloud project which involves managing digital learning devices that collect learning telemetry remotely, a project that fueled their coming on board at IoT and AI Summit.
“The summit presents a great platform for Miyabi Africa to engage with other organizations and individuals that are participating in the IoT space and create mind-share around delivering IoT solutions in the region,” said Collins Omwenga, Technical Lead at Miyabi Africa Ltd.
The IoT and AI Summit themed “Harnessing the Power of IoT & AI to Drive Customer Experience” is organised by CIO East Africa for companies to realise the full potential of IoT enablement, whilst combining IoT and AI to simulate intelligent behaviour and make well- informed decisions with little or no human intervention.
“While tapping into IoT is only one part of the story, it is evident that for companies to realize the full potential of IoT enablement, they need to combine IoT with rapidly advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, which enable ‘smart machines’ to simulate intelligent behaviour and make well-informed decisions with little or no human intervention” Laura Chite, CEO CIO East Africa said.
