Microsoft Integrates AI-Powered Copilot Into 365 Suite
Microsoft has announced the integration of iAI-powered copilot into the Microsoft 365 suite of apps. The technology, based on large language models (LLMs), uses natural language processing to help users create, analyze, and collaborate more effectively across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
According to Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s Chairman and CEO, Copilot marks a significant step in the evolution of human-computer interaction and has the potential to fundamentally change the way we work. “With our new copilot for work, we’re giving people more agency and making technology more accessible through the most universal interface — natural language,” he said.
Copilot works alongside users by generating first drafts of documents and presentations, suggesting data visualizations and automating repetitive tasks. The technology can also summarize long email threads and provide real-time meeting summaries and action items during Teams meetings.

Additionally, Microsoft has launched Business Chat, an entirely new experience that integrates Copilot with the Microsoft 365 Graph and user data, such as calendars, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and contacts. With Business Chat, users can give natural language prompts, and Copilot will generate relevant responses based on data from the Graph and the user’s past interactions.
Users have complete control over Copilot and can modify, discard, or accept its suggestions as they see fit. Copilot’s integration into Microsoft 365 aims to unlock productivity and creativity by enabling users to focus on the 20 per cent of work that really matters while reducing the time spent on busy work.
