Metropol TV, CIO East Africa sign content partnership agreement

Metropol TV, the newest business broadcast station in the Kenya has signed a media partnership agreement with and CIO East Africa, the Eastern Africa’s technology media company. The partnership will see both organization collaborate on creating compelling technology business news and features to air on Metropol TV on Signet, GOtv, online and shortly on DSTV.

“We are very excited to enter this partnership with CIO East Africa,” said Gikonyo Macharia, Head of Broadcast & Commercials, Metropol TV. “CIO East Africa has been forth front on business technology journalism and technology events and our plan is to extend the reach of this content to the business audience that we serve”, he averred.

Metropol TV, a 24-hour business content provider that has been on air since December 2018, was officially launched on March 26, with a focus on analysis rather than providing watered down business news. The station prides itself for using data, analytics and intelligence so that it’s viewership can make data-backed decisions when investing.

In the partnership, Metropol will be airing some of the panels at the CIO Fintech Summit scheduled for 22^nd and 23^rd of May. “Metropol Tv is a perfect partner to extend the reach of the content that we generate in our events,” said Harry Hare, Chairman and Publisher – CIO East Africa. “With this partnership, both our audiences should expect the highest quality of business technology discussions, news and features,” he added.

CIO East Africa has been publishing the CIO Magazine for the last eleven years and hosts a series of events on business technology including the upcoming Fintech Summit. The East Africa Fintech Summit is a two-day event that will gather disruptors, tech and finance professionals, regulators, and investors from across East Africa to discuss the technologies revolutionizing finance.
