Meta To Add Generative AI To Its Products
Social Media Giant Meta is joining the generative AI trend by testing AI-powered tools on its products.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company is creating a new product group to integrate generative AI into the company’s different products.
According to Zuckerberg, the initial focus of Meta will be on building creative and expressive tools. Over the longer term, they will focus on developing AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways.

Meta said it is exploring experiences with text (like chat in WhatsApp and Messenger), with images (like creative Instagram filters and ad formats), and with video and multi-modal experiences. However, Zuckerberg said the company “has a lot of foundational work to do before getting to the really futuristic experiences, but I’m excited about all of the new things we’ll build along the way.”
With this new announcement, Meta joins a growing list of tech companies that have refocused their teams to concentrate on incorporating their products and services with generative AI which became popular since the launch of OpenAI Chatbot ChatGPT in November last year.
For example, In February 2022, Microsoft announced the launch of a new AI-powered Bing search engine and Edge browser powered to help people get more from search and the web. Equally, Sundar Pichai, Google announced that the tech giant is opening Bard for testers ahead of rolling it out to the wider public.
