Mastercard’s President of International Markets, Ann Cairns has been nominated as a champion in business by the judging panel that forms part of the Financial Times and HERoes champions of women in business initiative.
This initiatives celebrates outstanding business leaders who are committed to promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.Under Ann’s supervision, this year alone, the women intake in the managerial category as well as the number of high potential females in her division has increased by 22% and 20%, respectively.

Women empowerment is a driver that is close to her heart and this is demonstrated not only through her tenacity to ensure Mastercard seeks not only women in senior positions but the best talent available amongst their peers.
Ann has also engaged herself with several initiatives within Mastercard that focus on women empowerment; “GiveMe5”, an initiative launched to advance the gender balance, she is also a sponsor of the World Food Program, and is connected with UN Women to advocate for developing digital identities for women around the world. Ann is also a sponsor of the production of the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs launched in 2017.
Women play a pivotal role in society as role models, business leaders, and community builders and she together with Mastercard endeavor to empower even more women and girls to be positive change-makers.
