Innovation grows businesses. It is practically the cornerstone for measuring the success of a business in such unpredictable times. Why? Because if there is one thing technology has shown us, it would be a constant with the ability to adapt and evolve as the seconds tick down. It is safe to say that a business needs technology to be sustainable.
How can your business keep up with changing technology trends? You do not have to reformulate the foundation of your business. All you need to do is understand how technology affects your organisation and how to apply breakthroughs to take advantages of them. This was the conversation that drove The Year Ahead summit 2021.
When Laura Chite opened up CIO East Africa’s first virtual event of the year, she observed that “Our main focus is to look at how technology is shaping new trends around solutions, reaching customers and making decisions.” She went on to give an example, pointing out how start-ups are changing, and re-invigorating technology strategies, taking advantage of new trends.

“The digital story is going to be more important for us if we are to continue advancing on our journeys,” she continued. Emphasising how important it is finding new possibilities of an existing service in order to design and deliver a better experience for your customer. “2020 showed us. Customer is King,” she rightly concluded.
The Year Ahead Forum draws together technology end-users, solution providers, ICT industry analysts, and professional associations, the academia as well as policy and decision-makers in government. It stargazes on the impact that innovation and accelerated digital transformation will have in the region.
Investment in the accelerated digital transformation in the enterprise community according to International Data Group (IDG) is set to hit at least $7.4 trillion in the next four years.
