The Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology in conjunction with the ICT Authority and industry players will convene an independent Multi-stakeholder ICT Innovation Forum on March 2 – 3. The event was previously scheduled for February 24 – 25 but was postponed.
Themed “Mind the Gap. Close the Gap”, the inaugural event will be graced by his Excellency the President of Kenya, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta. The event will engage stakeholders in exploring the needs of the innovation ecosystem and come up with ways to address barriers in the market.
The event will have two components, an ICT Innovation Forum which will be a thought leadership and decision making forum, bringing together top echelons of decisions makers in the innovation ecosystem. This include, solution providers/innovators, academia and research institutions, government policy makers, bilateral organizations, venture capitalists, incubation labs, and ICT consumers.

The event will also run an ICT Innovation Expo which will target technological breakthroughs in such main concern areas as manufacturing and service industry, financial inclusion, health and well-being, agriculture and agribusiness, environment, Transport, energy and water as well as education.
The following Six key areas have also been identified for incisive discussions during the forum: Strategic Procurement, Sustainable Talent and Workforce Development, Unlocking Capital, Co-Innovation, Research and Development, ITeS Exports and National Incubation Hubs and Accelerators
