East Africa’s inaugural E-Health conference is scheduled to take place in Kenya, Naivasha at the Sopa Lodge from June 22 – 25, 2015.
Bringing together key decision-makers and stakeholders from across the various medical, health, technology, governmental, corporate, financial, education and developmental sector, this is aimed at delivering rapid results in the journey towards realization of functioning e-Health programs in the region.
An initiative of Kenya’s Ministry of Health in partnership with key stakeholders, the e-Health conference 2015 will involve a series of 4-day plenary sessions and cluster-styled working groups, each focusing on key areas of the e-Health agenda.

In the effort to foster maximized participation, the E-Health conference has pioneered in creating the regions’ first-of-a-kind fully digitized e-Health conference. Implementation of internet-based chat rooms and live streaming has been integrated to ensure delegates and interested participants will be able to participate on-line in real time throughout the duration of the conference.
The conference bears the theme ‘Enhancing Universal healthcare through e-health’ and is expected to draw over 500 delegates from East Africa and across the world with another 5000 participating through the interactive digital platforms.
“This is an exciting time for this industry as we will be making E-Health a reality by syncing all the traditional elements of conferencing into our digital platforms,” Delano Kiilu, Conference Coordinator, noted.

“The conference will immerse delegates in an atmosphere of the digital E-Health future that will be actualized as a reality in the form of actions and key deliverables as declared at the conclusion of the conference,” stated Onesmus Kamau, Head of e-health, Ministry of Health.
Digital elements of the E-Health conferencing experience have been applied to delegate registration and conference participation.
“We have created a phone application that will enable delegates to follow and participate in discussions in other clusters apart from the ones they’ll be currently in,” said Anne Barsigo, deputy Head of e-Health at Ministry of Health. “To keep the conversation at the top of everyone’s minds, we have also created an online radio channel dedicated to discussing e-Health issues as well as numerous social media platforms for open participation.”
