Microsoft has announced its plans to host this year’s Cloud Society Camp, which will take place in Mauritius on the on May 9th to May 12th, 2018.
This event, exclusive to Microsoft Cloud Society members, aims to provide hands-on experience on disruptive technologies like IoT, Blockchain and AI, engage in fun team building activities and interact with peers across the region.
Sebuh Haileleul, General Manager for East Africa at Microsoft, says that the cloud camp will have an impact on the skills, ingenuity, and vision of cloud enthusiasts and ensure that they thrive in a mobile and cloud-first world.

“While we thrive to produce innovative, disruptive products and technologies, it is important to continue to deliver our commitment through building each other’s areas of interest and passion and that is our aim in this year’s cloud camp. We take pride as a corporation in availing such opportunities to individuals here in East Africa and it is indeed in other countries around the world,” he added.
He further said, “We work closely with technology partners and IT experts throughout the Middle East and Africa, to facilitate training and increasing employability across many sectors. Microsoft’s Cloud Society initiative will help people in the region build marketable skills, readying them for the digital jobs of the future.”
This year’s Cloud Society Camp will bring together global resident experts from Africa and the Middle-East including South Africa, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel, North Africa and the Mediterranean and Pakistan and Central and Sub Saharan Africa.

Interested candidates can apply and win an all-expense paid spot to the Cloud Camp by registering on Microsoft Cloud Society and completing at least one course that’s relevant to their interest and industry.
Upon achievement of the course, participants will be required to upload the completion certificate on LinkedIn with #CSMauritiusCamp and write in about 100 words how the course will help in their current role.
Winners amongst eligible participants will be selected based on the highest engagement wins achieved on social media. The winners will be announced on April 19th, 2018.
