After missing for three days, Chris Musando, Head of ICT Systems at IEBC, has been found dead and his body lying at the City Mortuary.
Confirming his demise, IEBC, Chairman, Wafula Chebukati side in a press conference at City Mortuary, “We learned with shock the killing and murder of our employee Chris Musando. There is no doubt that he was tortured and murdered. In our mind as a commission is who Killed him and why? and that is a question that needs to be answered.”
Mr. Chebukati further added, “We are a few days to elections and we all know, it is the duty of the Government to provide security to Kenyans.At this point and time i demand that the Government gives security to all IEBC employees for us to provide free and fair elections.”

He also added that the Commission was working with the police and family to ensure killers of Chris are brought to book.
IEBC was supposed to hold the launch of its, simulation exercise at Bomas of Kenya this afternoon but that has since been postponed to a later date.
“Chris was one of the most dedicate employees at IEBC in the ICT Sector. He was driving stone in the IEBC ICT Sector but he leaves behind a dedicated team that will carry on his work,”concluded Mr. Chebukati.

Mr. Musando went missing on Saturday and IEBC Chairman issued a press statement over the weekend confirming his disappearance. The last communication from him was an SMS sent to one of his colleagues at around 3 am on Saturday morning.
Earlier today it was reported that a vehicle belonging to Musando was earlier traced to the Thika Road Mall parking lot. The Land Rover Discovery was found intact at about 1 am on Monday.
Among the key speculation around his death, was the fact that Musando was one of the few people with knowledge on the whereabouts of the servers at IEBC. It is also stated that the manager had given Central police station officers reports of death threats.
