Embracing A Digital-First Approach Key To Success In Africa
Phyllis Migwi, the Country General Manager for Kenya at Microsoft, recently gave a keynote address at the dx100 Awards and Symposium in which she emphasized the importance of businesses in Africa adopting a digital-first approach to meet the needs and expectations of its youthful population.
Migwi pointed out that Africa is in a unique position when it comes to digital transformation due to its history with technology and the large number of young people who are native users of digital tools and platforms. She emphasized that small and medium-sized businesses in Africa do not have the same legacy systems as other parts of the world and this calls for coming up with digital solutions that address the modern needs of users.
She also encouraged companies to educate their users about the full range of capabilities offered by the technology solutions they offer. Migwi emphasized that simply selling a technology solution is not enough; it is also important to educate people on how to use it effectively.
