The network has operations in USA, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean, managing over 4000 brands across 50 countries hence shoppers and retailers in Kenya global access that they require.
CEO of eGiftAfrica, Sharouk Jiwa has spent several months implementing technology that will allow effortless setup of gift card and loyalty programs for retailers in Kenya, giving consumers easy access to these programs by making use of technologies like mobile phones, tablets as well as stand-alone web-based and mobile app POS systems.
“We realize there has always been a problem with sending gifts to people in Africa from outside the continent. Many families and friends are stuck with no options of sending gifts besides sending it physically with someone who is travelling or sending money via bank transfer. This creates a hassle for the sender and receiver, but we have finally solved this problem and at the same time also allowed a local retailer to benefit, which contributes to the economy,” says Jiwa.

“We have already signed on some major brands such as ArtCaffe, Dormans, Lintons Beauty World, MAC Cosmetics and Elite Digital to name a few. Retailers are getting excited with the concept and are welcoming it with open arms. We have recently formed some joint venture partnerships with Airtel Kenya& KCB to allow points to be converted into Gift Vouchers. Over Christmas, we launched 2 products known as the eGiftAfrica Universal Gift Voucher and EatOut Gift Voucher. The idea was to create a single voucher that a consumer could redeem at multiple restaurants or retailers in Nairobi,” Jiwa explained.
“We are in talks with boutique hotel brands in Kenya who would like to convert their existing loyalty points into major airlines. International airlines and employee incentive companies have also started contacting us from abroad for redemption partners in Africa,” he concluded.
