DTB opens digital branch at Nairobi’s Garden City Mall

Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) opened a digital branch at the Garden City Mall along Thika Super highway in Nairobi. This becomes the 55th branch in Kenya and it will primarily cater to the needs and financial requirements of business establishments and retail customers in the area. DTB has 120 branches across the East Africa region

Nasim Devji, CEO of DTB, says, “DTB is seeking to enhance customer experiences and increase accessibility for its services by providing traditional branch locations with digital branches to transact and increase efficiency while transforming how it engages with both new and existing customers.”

The new digital branch will allow customers to perform, without human interaction, bulk cash deposits with instant credit to account, cheque deposits, online banking and normal ATM withdrawals and deposits amongst other services..

According to Nasim Devji, the modern day bank customer is looking to have instant banking services and technology enables this.

“Certain banking transactions require one to be physically present at the branch and traditional banking hours do not allow customers to do their transactions at their convenience. The option of having a digital branch means that more customers are able to meet their banking needs at their convenience without worrying about banking hours” says Ms Devji.

This is the first digital branch with a lobby that DTB is opening. Late last year DTB expanded and renovated its Oval, Westlands, Nairobi branch, transforming it into the bank’s first digital lobby in Kenya.
