SAP Africa announced the appointment of Dr. Gilbert Saggia as its new Managing Director in East Africa.
Kenya-born Dr. Saggia completed a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Nairobi before embarking on a highly successful career in the ICT sector, where over the past 18 years he held various senior positions.
Brett Parker, Managing Director at SAP Africa, commented that Dr. Saggia’s appointment comes at the perfect time as the company drives its digital transformation agenda across the East African region. “Dr. Saggia’s experience and skills in championing digital transformation in the public and private sectors, especially in healthcare, as well as his experience with cloud technologies perfectly complement our ambitions in the region. Prior to his most recent position as Kenya Country Managing Director at Oracle where he was responsible for the office and operations, and was accountable for supporting the achievement of all business and functional objectives within the country, Dr. Saggia was Regional Manager: East Africa at Cisco systems, and gained international experience during his tenure as Sales Solutions Manager at Siemens in Belgium.

He holds an MBA certification from Tulane University in the USA, and contributes to regional periodicals and books especially on the topic of ICT in healthcare. Dr. Saggia was also recently listed in the top 40 under 40 Men in Kenya.
