During the panel discussion, Miguna used the word to describe the Vice President, William Ruto, saying that Ruto will never become the President of the Republic of Kenya as “the man is a demagogue.”
According to the English Dictionary, a Demagogue is a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument. Also, the word became more popular after Twitter trolls used it in creating memes around the same.
The resignation of IEBC Commissioner Dr. Roselyn Akombe and fleeing the country almost broke the internet as well as Jimmy Wanjigi‘s home raid which yielded his maiden appearance to the public had Kenyans hitting their keyboards to unravel the mystery behind him and his wife Nzisa and this helped get him on the top ten trends.
