It was a cheerful evening at Kampala Serena Hotel, during this year’s Digital Impact Awards Ceremony, which took place to recognize, appreciate and honor different organizations that are fronting the use of digital mediums in executing their services.
The Nominees were grouped into 35 categories per this year’s theme which was “Include everyone”. Different corporate, social and government agencies were credited basing on their Creativity, functionality and flexibility usage of digital platforms and financial inclusions.
MTN Uganda managed to take home not less than two Awards, one for being the Best Inclusion Services Provider through MTN MoMo, Commendation for Youth and Arts Advancement in Digital Era Award, Best Financial Inclusion Innovation of the year through MTN XTRA Float and the Best Internet Provider Award.

Other winners comprised; Centenary Bank, for the Digital Brand of the Year, Safe Boda, for Best Payment Product, Lipan a M- Pesa for Best Fintech Revolutionary Product and M- KOPA for Energy, for Best Financial Services for the Poor Enabler among others Best Telecom App Award went to Vodacom, Best e- Commerce platform to Jumia and Best Savings and Lending Product to Airtel/ JUMO Wewole.
Best Banking App Award went to Stanbic Bank, Online Banking Award to Standard Chartered Bank, Best Mobile Banking Award to Centenary Bank, Financial Literacy Promoter Award went to DFCU Bank (Battle for Cash) and Best Use of Digital by Microfinance to improve Financial Inclusion Award went to Pride Micro Finance.
Cyber security Excellence for Digital Channels Award was bestowed upon Standard Chartered Bank, while Payments Integrator Award went to Craft Silicon (Kenya) and Best Digital Customer Experience (utilities/govt agency) award was taken by National Water and Sewerage Cooperation. The Best Social Banking award was taken by United Bank of Africa, while e-service Award by Uganda Revenue Authority and Best Government organization on Social Media award went to Kampala Capital City Authority.

Under the theme: “Include Everyone”, Digital Impact Awards Africa is a platform that promotes Digital Inclusion, Financial Inclusion and Cyber security. Precisely; the Awards seek to recognize, celebrate and appreciate different individuals and organizations that are spearheading the use of digital mediums to better serve their communities.
