#CloudSecuritySummit2018 Protect the digital space

The Government of Rwanda through Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) in-conjunction CIO East Africa are queued to host the premier Cloud and Security Summit effective 28th – 29th March 2018 at the Kigali Marriot Hotel in Rwanda.

The session bringing together IT and Cyber Security experts comprising Cyber Governance and Compliance Teams, CISOs, CIOs, CTOs and IT Architects in the public and business enterprises share experiences, and further debunk cyber security and myths around cloud computing.

The summit’s agenda is packed with inspirational keynotes addressing pertinent issues that range from cyber security journey so far, its impact and ways to sustain the course on matters policy and investing on corrective and reasonable security measures as defined by law and fighting cybercrime quantifying risk to build a defensible cybersecurity budget.

Themed: Protecting the Digital Space the summit intends to sustain the momentum of the world that has steadily risen to cloud computing while tapping several public institutions and enterprises which are on the course towards investing on it.

In varied case studies, stellar speakers invited to engage with the delegates will demonstrate how legacy companies are adopting next-generation technologies such as cloud in a bid to change their businesses.

Of interest in the menu of ideas shall be a hands-on learning opportunities via real-life hacking simulations during the afternoon demo sessions.

The summit, which shall be climax of the Rwanda National Cyber Security Awareness Week aims to provide a platform of which IT peers can share experiences and learn from security professionals building the ideal security architecture for complex, dynamic, and interconnected systems.

Needing no introduction, public cloud is projected to host most enterprise workloads sometime later in 2018. IDC estimates public cloud will be a $203 billion industry by 2020, with an annual growth rate of 22 percent.

Need to defend against advanced threats
The major forces driving the adaptive security market are need to defend against advanced threats, increasing need for security compliances and regulations, and limitations to traditional security solutions.

As businesses grow, new and sophisticated threats are created everyday which puts public institutions, companies and even individuals’ critical data at risk says Dr. Bright G. Maduwor, Head of Cyber Security Services, Internet Solutions.
