The event is scheduled to take place on the 17th and 18th December at the Matili Technical Training Institute.
Commenting on the announcement, Bungoma Governor, Hon Kenneth Lusaka, emphasized the need to have locals benefit from various technology based solutions “over the years, there has been great emphasis across the major cities to adopt technology solutions but this time; we are looking to have citizens at the county level innovate and benefit from solutions that they have themselves engineered.”
This year, the two days event is themed, “Tapping Innovative Minds for Economic Prosperity.” It will bring together experts from the Education, ICT, Engineering, Agriculture, Human Health, Finance and Law sectors who will share ideas on how to tap innovative minds for economic prosperity using ICT at the county level. Innovators will also have a chance to showcase various innovations with the top three set to be awarded in various categories.

Bungoma County is taking the lead at investing in technology entrepreneurship and supporting the budding industry. Recent notable moves include the participation at the just concluded DEMO Africa event 2015. Here, young technology entrepreneurs from the county and staff came home with important lessons and networks which are already being exploited in the setting-up of the Matili Science and Technology Park.
The mtHub will host innovators and young entrepreneurs from Bungoma County and its environs including students at all levels of learning
