Andrew Lewela Named CEO Of KeNIC
The Kenya Network Information Centre (KeNIC), responsible for registering and issuing dot ke domains, has appointed Andrew Mwanyota Lewela as its new CEO effective February 1st. His appointment comes after the resignation of Joel Karubiu who served as CEO from 2019.
Lewela is an expert in digital economy and public policy. Prior to joining KeNIC, he served as the CEO and Founder of tech firm Sambali, a government Affairs & Digital Economy Advisory Group. He has also served as a lecturer of Project Management at the Kenya Methodist University.
Lewela has over 18 years of experience in software/technology sales, marketing, strategic planning, project management, government affairs, and product development. He has worked with notable organizations such as the ICT Authority, Safaricom, Oracle, International Trade Centre, and Cellulant.

Andrew Lewela holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from Deakin University, a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Nairobi, and a Graduate Diploma in Management Information Systems from Strathmore University.
