As the COVID- 19, pandemic travel restrictions continue to be eased across the region and around the world, more people are travelling for business, leisure, and other personal reasons. This has helped create opportunities for telecommunications companies to innovate products that can help people communicate effectively.
Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) 2022 Q1 market performance report, says domestic networks served a total of 3.4 million visiting roamers from partner networks.
Equally, 2.4 million Ugandan customers visited overseas networks during the quarter. This performance translates into an increase of 1.2 million inbound rompers and 100,000 outbound rompers over the past two quarters.
“Roaming bundles and tariffs for calls should remain reasonably affordable for any Airtel and choosing to continue using their Airtel SIM card within the Airtel One network”, she added.
Kyomuhendo pointed out that Airtel Uganda, with over 500 roaming partners worldwide and their superior 4G network, is confident that customers will enjoy seamless Internet and calls at an affordable cost.
