The two are: Julian Kyula, CEO and Founder of MODE, who has been named as an East Africa Entrepreneur of The Year and Danson Muchemi, Founder of Web Tribe Ltd who has been named as a Young Business Leader of the Year finalist.
The finalist of AABLA, a partnership with CNBC Africa was announced during a live broadcast on DStv Channel 410 in Johannesburg on September 3rd. The finalists’ announcement aired live on CNBC Africa, brought together former AABLA winners, members of the press, key stakeholders and nominees to reveal this years contenders and celebrate the awards 5th anniversary.
According to a press release, posted on the awards’ official website, selecting the finalists took a period of two months.

“Working through over a hundred qualifying submissions, judges spent well over two months examining, analyzing and deliberating the candidates for 2015, narrowing it down to only a handful of business leaders per category, in each region.” The release read.
The AABLA, now in their fifth year, recognise Africa’s bold leaders and change-makers of business in East, West and Southern Africa.
The regional events will be staged in Nairobi on September 15, Johannesburg September 30 and Lagos October 22 with the Finale taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre on November 13.

The Lifetime Achievement Award in each region and for All Africa will once again be selected by the judging committee and announced on the night. As a new category to the fold, the Industrialist of the Year category presented by the IDC, will take on a similar format.
The winners of each region will go through to the Finale, hosted by Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela, to crown an All Africa victor.
