WhatsApp, one of the biggest communication platforms in the world, with over 2 billion users and with over 340 million calls processed everyday, is working on a lot of interesting features that we get to see the snippets of every now and then.
As per reports, WhatsApp has brought back its popular Vacation mode feature in the latest Android beta update. The new roll of updates don’t stop there, alone with this, other features including the auto-archive chats is also being tested by the messaging app. All the features are currently under development and WhatsApp will roll them out officially only when it is free of bugs.
“WhatsApp has decided to implement the Vacation Mode again, under a new form! There will be a new dedicated section for the Vacation Mode, that allows choosing different parameters. When the new feature will be enabled, Archived chats will be moved to the top of your chats list,” the report by the WhatsApp features tracker read.

The Vacation mode feature that WhatsApp has been working on for over a year now will allow users to mute notifications from archived chats. However, in the latest update, it was found that WhatsApp will give two options to users to deal with their archived chats. The Notify New Messages and Auto Hide inactive chats option. The first option if enabled will let the users know about the messages from the archived chats but if the second option is enabled WhatsApp will hide chats that have been inactive for six months. This will seemingly involve some sort of new machine learning technology in order for the system software to correctly learn and hide the chats that it needs to.
