Some of the major impediments to the adoption of technology into the industry as enlisted during the first session of the forum include; lack of funds to innovate, a conservative module of operation and the lack of the urge to urgently embrace change.
Harry Hare, the Chairman and Publisher of CIO East Africa Magazine noted that although the industry has tones of very useful data, it fails to use such appropriately to better service delivery.
Dr. Kipngetich Julius, the Regional CEO for Jubilee Holdings who attended the forum avered; “Insurers cannot talk about data without mentioning Blockchain and AI. The industry needs these technologies to disrupt their operation models and reframe the industry.”
