MultiChoice has dedicated 10 local and international news channels on DStv and GOtv to the election updates as Nigerians prepare to exercise their right to vote during the upcoming elections.
A statement sent out by the company notes: “subscribers of DStv can remain informed about the election in various parts of the country, through the channels on the platform such as; Channels Television, SilverBird Television, African Independent Television (AIT), Muhri International Television (MiTV), Nigerian Television Authority (NTAi), Lagos Television (LTV), as well as the international and global news channels like CNN, CNBC Africa, BBC, Al Jazeera, and Arise News.”
The statement further states that GOtv subscribers can be informed through international news channels such as CNN, Al Jazeera and Arise. On the local platform, GOtv subscribers will also get to watch all free to air news channels.

In the words of Martin Mabutho, General Manager Marketing, MultiChoice, “Without a doubt we have a wide enough array of news channels offering our subscribers different perspectives and angles on the election. The channels have a duty to inform and we have provided the platforms for them to do so.”
Meanwhile CNN’s Senior international correspondent, Nima Elbagir will be leading the network’s coverage on the ground in Nigeria, while Deborah Rayner, Senior Vice President of Newsgathering at CNN International, said: “With major issues around international security and energy on the table, this is a vitally important election for Nigeria, West Africa and beyond.”
